Vigil: The Longest Night - A Challenging 2D Action Platformer

Vigil: The Longest Night is a 2D action platformer game developed by Glass Heart Games. It features precise and technical combat with a strong narrative, inspired by Salt and Sanctuary and Castlevania. The game challenges players with its difficulty while compelling them with a tale of eldritch horror.

The game is set in a world that wanders between dream and reality, sanity and madness. Players follow Leila on her quest to save her hometown from the creeping evil infesting the surrounding countryside. The game features 4 types of weapons and multiple varieties of each type that players can experiment with. Additionally, there are unique items to suit different playstyles and a complex skill tree to create the ultimate warrior of light.

The game's unique art style is inspired by the art of Chinese Paper Cutting and features brutal enemies with multiple methods of attack and surprising attacks. Players can explore dank caves, abandoned villages, and haunted forests while meeting the residents of Leila's hometown as they struggle in a world of maddening darkness. The game also features a number of hideous bosses from the depths of your nightmares and multiple endings to unravel. Music for the game is composed by Jouni Valjakka of the popular band Whispered.
